The last straw for me, regarding Sony, was when I bought a Sony label music CD close to 20 years ago, and when I put it in my PC, it loaded a program onto my PC that opened a backdoor port. And a couple weeks later, a rootkit virus was installed on my PC and it took me days to recover from it. I was stupid - a message popped up that looked harmless and I clicked OK, when I should have just ejected the CD right then and there.
Since then, I refuse to buy anything made by Sony. Even if the reviewers say the Sony product is the best option, I go with second best. Or third, depending on who is in second place.
I was mistaken, the Sony CD installed the rootkit on the HDD. And left open ports into the PC, which allowed viruses to be installed. Getting rid of the viruses was easy compared to getting rid of the rootkit. Everyone said it was a lost cause, but I eventually found a rootkit remover that worked in safe mode when I ran it from a USB stick. If you tried to run it from the HDD, the rootkit blocked it from running.

SONY is Evil. Maybe not as evil as Disney, but until everything is revealed, I won't make a bet either way.
