I said she "tried". She dressed her up as a boy. Literally. This is not the same thing as a "tomboy". I was a "tomboy". I hated dresses, dolls and "girly" things but I didn't want to look like a boy either. I didn't wear clothing from the boys department. I just preferred jeans and a cool tshirt over dresses and skirts. My mom didn't try to push me over the edge by buying me boy jeans and suits, she just said I was a tomboy and it was ok if I preferred legos and cars over dolls, and dressing casual instead of girly.
I guess what I'm uncomfortable about, is the pronouncement that we know what this girl's mom did and that narrative may actually be coming from stories from "journalists" and the media. The media has had a history of smearing people and they clearly shamed AJ often and throughout the years. They called her little girls ugly names and said that one looked special needs, etc, they did the same to Trump's kids. Why should we believe anything they say?
