Women are literally born followers.

It's a basic biological, hardwired, fundamental fact, just like the 2 genders and the physical differences;

Men are born leaders. Born to provide; fight, hunt, kill, bring food home, protect family from danger, etc.

Women want and need a strong man to protect, defend, provide, etc.

Some very small examples:

50 shades of gray. I haven't read it of course, but I understand it's 100% BDSM, bondage, rape fantasy, domination, etc. And women go fucking INSANE over it. It's HUGELY popular all around the world.

This fundamental difference between the sexes is precisely why a physically unattractive - or even repulsive - man who is wealthy can have any woman he wants, and has girls falling all over him.

He triggers womens deep-seated, biological, reptile-brained need to find a provider to provide for her & her kids.

Same for the ultra-buff muscleheads, same for the bad boy alpha male jerks. They have those traits that give girls the tingles.

Women are hardwired to find a protector and provider, because what good is it having kids if your mate can't protect / provide / secure + defend?

Basic Biological facts.

Note also that this is not a judgement in any way; None of these traits - in EITHER sex - are BAD; they just ARE.

Just like emotions; they just are. They all have their place. There's no such thing as a "bad" emotion.

The different traits each gender possesses, in fact COMPLEMENT each other. Men and women NEED each other.

Men AND women are awesome! Very different but complementary!
