That doesn't appear to be only pilot deaths, rather, fatalities from plane crashes and the such.

2021: 5 accidents (thus far)
2020: 10 accidents
2019: 14 accidents
2018: 18 accidents
2017: 5 accidents
2016: 11 accidents
2015: 17 accidents

For 2021, the five accidents had: 62 deaths, 0 deaths, 0 deaths, 12 deaths, and 0 deaths.

Totalling to the 74 fatalities you have provided for the year 2021.
