You can clearly hear a harmonic oscillation, which will be speed mismatch between piston engines. The Allisons on a C130 will have more of a consolidated roar, and no audible harmonic oscillations due to operating in a different RPM effective range.
Sounds like a flash back to a WW2 prop plane. I live in L.A. and every summer they'd have the planes of fame tour. Was used to seeing a B-17 flying over frequently, but that was 4 engines. Saw a Mustang take off years ago, and that as impressive.
Maybe it was an old prop plane trainer.
Oh man, you're awesome! It sounded exactly like that! I know it was low quality video, but it was the best I could do....I figured those who really know a lot about airplanes would still be able to tell what it was.
Thanks bunches also for your service! It's greatly appreciated! 🇺🇲👍
Bless you Army Lady, bless you. To be difficult i can tell you that I can't comment on this as I honestly don't know what I don't know, not only that but what I do know is a bit more than others don't know. I hope that clears things up for you.
Sounds like multi engine turbo prop. But being over youtube audio could also be a da40 but bad weather would not permit... Anything from 80's gen still in service to small commercial aircraft. Cant narrow it
Next time use FlightRadar24 app. Prop definitely, there are lots but I couldn’t tell from your recording coming going,. Mil AC C-130 and P-3. Then there are new military trainers and ground combat prop AC. You also don’t say your general location.
That sounded like a Convair 580 to me. Twin engine turboprop with basically the same engines and props as a C-130, but with two instead of four. I used to work on the Convairs when I was a much younger aircraft mechanic.
Oh wow, I live in a rural area south of San Antonio and heard a very similar airplane sound last night too. It was very loud and made the walls of my house vibrate. It wasn’t a C-130 bc I lived close to an airbase in San Antonio before and I used to see/ hear them all the time, everyday, all day and it wasn’t like them. Sounded like an old WW2 airplane but bigger.
Sounded like a C-130
No, it didn't.

sounded old to me too... could not discern if 2 or 4 engines though, low quality recording.

Retired AF, love Military aircraft sounds

Why would there be a russian bear there?
I have seen Bears when on exercises off the Lofoten Islands, they are far louder than this, your recording sounds like a piston engined aircraft.
Bears are very loud indeed and have contra rotating props driven by gas turbines.
Is there anything people on this site don't know? ; )

God bless the USA!
Were you a pilot?
Sounds like a propeller transport aircraft with variable pitch on the prop blades.

Doesn’t sound like the osprey in a prop tilt configuration.
Nope.

I tried to look to see if I could see anything, but given that it was raining, it was clouded up. Any help is appropriate, thanks!

That's the sound of freedom.
Sounds like a quad of Pratt and whitney radial engines. aka B-17
No, this was at 10pm at night.
