uh what the fuck nobody wants immortality
I thought it was cool when I was younger.
Now I'm more on the camp of: "Who the hell wants to live forever?"
My great aunt who lived to 95 said it wasn’t worth it. Her husband was gone, friends gone, and while she had us and always treasured us, there was such a sadness to her when she’d talk about being her age.
There was a psychology text I read once about an old man who went to the doctor and found he had a form of cancer which could be lethal but was also treatable. He said: "Well, that's all right. Exit stage left." They called him to ask him to come in for treatment, but he responded that his wife was gone, his friends were gone, and he was ready to go. They finally got him to accept treatment, but only because that death was a painful way to go.
