You can't get High-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) from at home oxygen machines.
Two machines put out about 10L of oxygen when you may need 60L in your nasal passage. So no one should expect a home machine to keep up.
Well I don’t know what you’re talking about. All I can tell you is what happen with me and my mom. When she had Covid they sent or prescribed at home oxygen for her. A huge machine showed up, just like the one my dad used to have when he was alive and had COPD. It had a cannula, and she had to wear it the entire time. Except when She went to the restroom or was walking around. We had it set to 3.0. This helped immensely. It helped provide her with the oxygen that she needed to keep her levels up so all her nutrients and medication would get to her cells and her body through her blood. Without proper oxygen in her blood all those things can’t get to where they need to go. Or it’s definitely hindered.
So I never said you had to have a high flow, for it to be affective. I’m sure you can set it up to a higher level if you needed to, but there’s always the issue with getting off of the oxygen, and having to step down so you’re not depending on in the future. That was a huge concern for me. We knocked it down .5 each day once you got stable. She’s fine now. No damage to her lungs, and she goes to the gym twice a day. So what I say at home oxygen, that’s what I’m referring to the experience that we had.
