Not nearly as easy as this commenter implies. Not everyone owns land, has 365 day growing seasons, has access to large freezers or root cellars, time to care for and harvest a self sufficient-sized garden.
I grow for fun as a hobby and spend so many hours every day for the smallest yield each year. There’s no way everyone can grow enough food for themselves and still do other things. Consolidating jobs to specific people to provide for the community is done for a reason. Farmers make it their jobs to grow for everyone for a reason. If you’re going to put in the work to successfully and bountifully grow diverse crops to maintain a human diet, it will take all your time, so you scale up your work.
I guarantee you will not find a single example of a single person, by himself, owning a garden large enough to allow them to never consume frozen plant nutrition unless they live somewhere tropical.
I definitely think its fun and very rewarding. I just also understand that its not something everyone has the patience to learn and stick with. Honestly, if you are anywhere where it get below 45 deg or so, and enjoy growing at all and are able to, get a greenhouse. It's so much fun being able to grow tropical plants way outside of their growth zone.
Plant a garden with veg and herbs. Source protein from local suppliers. NEVER go down processed or frozen food aisles again. ChaChing$&$&$&$
