Wow I love folks that know WORDS mean what they say and indeed changing it to fit someone’s narrative is not the meaning!

I no longer will say I “understand” for it doesn’t mean as we think I understand what you are saying. it really means you are agreeing to stand under (agree) with what they are saying!

interpret or view (something) in a particular way.

Basically in a court of law if ask “Do you understand?” And you say yes then you just agreed to stand under that view!

Now I said “I know what your words mean but do I agree No! (If I don’t) Fine to say “I understand and agree with what you are saying!”
