This is some next-level messed up reasoning. They then went on to haughtily explain how they're not taking him anywhere until he is. No trips, no aquarium, nothing (all because the kid's dad's family are "crazy anti-vaxxers").
How entangled and selfish does one have to be in their own cognitive dissonance to hold political beliefs over their grandchild's head? Poor kid... Grandma is lib AF! I had to walk away mid-conversation because I didn't want to cause a scene. It was my first encounter with someone that hardcore and I didn't know how to handle it without wanting to say very mean things. Sad, sad, sad!
Great answer. I like this person, so it was definitely an inner conflict of disappointment, feeling sorry for her, and wanting to ask her why she is psychologically damaging the poor kid. If I think of these types as Lenny in Of Mice and Men, then I can usually get through the situation. They know not what they do, or maybe they just can't help it?
Seems like they know what they are doing - punishing the kid to hurt the dad who won't let his kid get vaxxed thank God.
Evil fucking divorcee grinch. You had more patience than me but it's usually best to stay out of parenting matters unless it is super dangerous for the kid. People will go to the mat about their parenting. Sounds like the dad has saved the kids life and gifted him a crappy Christmas unless he doesn't want to be around them anyway.
My mother used to send me to my room as I got older as punishment. Lol that is where my books and art supplies were. Super happy up there away from the idiots making demands and the sound of 6 Brothers and sisters fighting with crap like 90210 on in the background. Good grief. You know that could be why I found myself an independent old sole and meandered my way to GAW after Voat.
Life is nicer with babies tea books and knitting. People mess it up.
