well, if there are tunnels, they have been being dug for longer than Elon has been able to afford digging them. Remember when they introduced us to "big bertha" the bore machine just a chunk of years ago? Think that big ugly thing was the first and only earth tunnel maker out there? How bout the underground/ocean roadways connecting certain areas that we "do know about and use". When people say tunnels most, imagine small ones that are just tall enough to fit a semi truck through as they travel on the freeway, or the ones the underground trams use.
