Its simple math really.

It takes 2 people to have 1 kid. 2 kids would be net 0 (assuming no incest)

So in order for the population to keep growing (without inbreeding ) we need groups of 2 to have at least 3 babies.

My parents family was a boomer family had 12 kids. My mom had 3. Current generation lives like China
