Y’all have answered a lot of what I’ve been thinking and why I no longer listen to his shows. However, IDK if it’s just me interpreting the post wrong but, I gather that it is almost implied that the DO is not of the same caliber as the MD when in fact the 2 are very much the same. Often you don’t realize that one is the DO vs the MD. IDK if it is still the case that a DO can do but in my area we had a DO that worked our ER and she was the only doctor on that shift. . . DOs are inclined to treat the pt at a holistic level moreso than the MD. For example they may try to give u an adjustment or refer u to a chiropractor for back pain instead of the usual guidelines. X-ray, PT, blah blah blah. At least that is my understanding of DOs. I would take one nowadays over a damn allopathic physician in a heartbeat!
My friend is a chiropractor and her daughter will become a DO. Yes, they are more holistic. However, DO schools are easier to get into so the best and brightest are not usually going the DO route.
Did you know the MCAT has been modified in recent years to take out sections testing logic and reasoning (I think that’s what they were - I was told this) and replaced those 2 sections with nebulous ethical type questions. We are suspicious that they are purposely choosing medical students that are easily manipulated.
There is a lawsuit over the new sections of the MCAT.

They are placing foreign born students in many of those slots I believe.
