It's amazing how much carries over from BB guns to real guns. I didn't shoot any real rifles until Marine Corps bootcamp. Shot expert every time. The real fun was the "unknown course of distance" ranges. Pop up targets from 200 - 400 yards, set your sights at 350 and use "Kentucky Windage". Learning bullet drop from a BB helps alot!
That's what I was taught but as a kid I did not understand it. Then when I got older learned what medal meant and everything else. Talk about shocked. lol Every time I asked are you really good? He says I'm not great just decent. -.-
Best part was he wasn't even in Infantry. He's administration. So the admin place where my dad was stationed loved it when mock battles were scheduled vs infantry. They finally won but downside was got noticed and when 9/11 happened yup. He made it back thank God.
I'm sure your kids will tell stories of how their "Old man" taught them how to be damn good shooters!
Thats awesome. Good dad!
