Andres Melendez was a minor league baseball player expected to make it to the big leagues for the Cleveland Indians at some point over the next few years.
And he just dropped dead yesterday. Add him to the list of dead jabbed athletes.

While I agree completely, frankly I feel the same way about people who make it a point to complain about this every time sports are talked about.
Don't get me wrong, I still like a good ballgame, I just don't let that define me. Sorry, the blithering on of any sort of singularly-faceted person get old, but especially something of such insignificance, considering the bigger picture. It was better before sports became another division of Propaganda, inc. You know what I would like to see? Those sports-obsessed people turn their attention to what's going on in Washington, Brussels and locally for that matter. I believe the 'opiate of the masses' is one of the things that has led to our current situation. Imagine if half of those people would start holding politicians feet to the fire with the same fervor as they dedicate to the local ballclub. I suspect it will take the communication blackout to happen before we see that sort of sentiment.
You know you're literally quoting Karl Marx there? The original quote refers to how Marx said that religion is the opiate of the masses.
