Unpopular opinion: no, I don't think omicron is engineered. We know that the coof is engineered from a bat coronavirus. I think omicron is actually the natural variant that it was based on. That would explain why Africa hasn't seen huge covid surges like everyplace else. If the natural variant originated there, the population has a greater immunity by virtue of frequent exposure. Maybe I'm wrong. I just don't think we have that much control over the viral genome.
