A pretty broad set of generalizations, but I guess we see what we see, and gravitate to it accordingly.

I strongly agree with your fundamental premise; things would be much better if there was a higher quality of interaction; a lot of people seem highly reactive, and the ego seems to come to the fore more than is desirable, but I'm not convinced this is the general or dominant tone of this board, but who knows. Maybe that's just because I steer clear of what seems to me like low quality content, and tend to focus on what I see as worthwhile.
