A lot of people in higher paying jobs have finally decided that it's not worth it to keep working for micromanaging dunces or follow ridiculous government and insurance rules. I know of a good number of doctors who have decided to retire early.
I got tired of things almost 20 years ago and left a good paying job. I haven't missed that job a single minute. Money isn't everything.
Places around here really are shorthanded. One of my favorite local restaurants has only one or two waitresses working at one time, and they have to run their butts off trying to take care of everyone.
There are still employers who are trying to find someone who is actually qualified for the job. They don't need simple warm bodies filling up space. They need workers.
Welfare, EBT, housing, Obamaphones. I have a 20-something relative who has never worked a full-time job in her life. I can tell that she isn't missing any meals.
There's also drugs, prostitution, Door Dash, Uber, and other side hustles that don't involve working for someone else 40 hours a week.
If you live in a city and have a car that gets good gas mileage, I hear you can make good money delivering meals. It doesn't work as well in small towns.
The labor shortage is from years and years of never increasing the minimum wage. In industrial engineering it’s still extremely competitive. Blue collar work takes no days off. However, we are having a hard time finding machine operators and they make $18.00+ an hour

Liberals do NOT want people working. Working leads to independence. Independence leads people to see through liberal bullshit. Seeing through liberal bullshit leads to voting for people that do not subscribe to that disgusting way of life.
Liberals solved this "problem" by growing the welfare state. Millions of people sit around and collect just enough to live. They have no motivation to work. You could crank minimum wage up to $30/hour tomorrow (for the sake of discussion, let's assume there wouldn't be an economic implosion when that happened) and you would still see millions of people refuse to work since they get more than enough from government handouts.
Liberals promote all sorts of other social spending for job training (i.e. "learn to code" kinds of programs at various universities and community colleges). Sadly, these are not used. Social workers don't even promote them. There is absolutely no motivation to improve some people's lives when they're given barely enough to exist w/o having to work for it. Moreover, as mentioned before, liberals cannot stand individual liberty. They hate work for that reason ... it makes people independent.
Remember, the only thing they care about is power over people's lives. Liberals fight for a higher minimum wage because it sounds good. They know it won't do anything to solve problems.

Take it for what it is worth..I lost my job due to cut backs from covid last year...I have since put in over 100 resumes...not one single call back except a place that the first question on the phone was if I was vaxxed...well I'm not so that didn't work out...but literally all the places I applied say they need workers bad ..I am 43 and only had three different jobs in my life started when I was 15 and worked until covid took my job....I have an impressive resume as I have been the highest positions in my companies that they had to offer besides owner....so they cry about no one wanting to work but at this point I can't get a minimum wage job...I'll take anything...no one is actually hiring....but that's just my experience.....maybe if I was a woman or a minority I would have a better chance I don't know ..that sounds horrible to say but Is true......
Yeah unfortunately I believe that too..the want racial divide so badly ...if people realized it a class war and not a race war we might actually have a chance...the powers that be want racial tensions high so we forget who we are against
Unfortunately that's my experience..where I live everyone is saying we need workers...well here I am......still no hiring is going on...they found out they can overwork the few employees they have...give subpar service....and probably get grants from the government for being affected by the scary covid.. everything is a lie now up is down right is wrong...what's that ancient Chinese curse....may you live in interesting times..lol don't believe in a worker shortage isn't something else....we are being decieved
I work in a factory and they overstaffed us. I work on a team troubleshooting 9 machines and we've moved from 5 members to 7. I think it is because the company thought we might have deaths or something due to the fake pandemic.

I got to thinking about this a couple of months ago and as a business major this makes zero sense. Are that many people dying in every single city and state?
