I think some people (not saying you fit in this category, I have no clue) were envisioning a great Messiah to save them from the Romans. They thought there would be no pain ... Eventually Christ will return, could be today, could be in 100 years, and He’ll cleanse the world. But until then we have a lot of sh** to wade through. Revelations, Daniel and all the other prophecies never make it sound like a cake walk. Its going to be hard. Q said it would not be easy (precipice and all). At least millions will die unfortunately.
