What's amazing to me is that I've talked to several people currently in their 20s and 30s and they've never had chicken pox. Not only that, but they don't know any of their peers that have had it either.
The vax came out around 2000. None of my kids have had the pox. Over half have never had the vax for it. I assume the vax works for it, but the trade-off might be chronic disease.
Now I'm curious if my friend's kids have had it. They were homeschooled and literally have never gotten any vaccinations. Claims they have never had health issues as a result of their choice. Gotta see if they've had the pox now lol.
I have two kids who had the pox vax, but the younger five didn't. Some of them were in public school for awhile and never got a communicable disease while there. I was a little nervous we would get branded as patient zero if they got chicken pox or whooping cough, but nothing but an occasional tummy bug.
