Ah. Those were the days. I remember when a virus just had to run its course and no one was concerned bc it was only a virus. That would just run its course.
I remember when Id keep my kids home bc they had a cold and teachers were annoyed bc theyd have to make up work. And Id get annoyed bc pretty much no other parents kept their sneezing, coughing kids home.
I remember in big flu 2017/18 insisting on flu test bc I needed to know bc I had a new baby--but dr said it was pointless since nothing can be done for a virus anyway and how the tests are not reliable.
My favorite--I remember when I wanted to wear a mask in the nicu bc my whole fam was sick and tho I wasnt I was afraid flu just hadnt shown symptoms yet--and dr told me: Are you sick? I said no, but what if Im not symptomatic yet? He said, you can only spread it if youre coughing or sneezing, theres no need to wear a mask. Can you imagine this? In the most vulnerable part of hospital--a nicu dr said this. Why? bc its TRUE.
GOD I MISS THOSE DAYS
When I was a kid, I rarely stayed home sick. When I got chicken pox, I felt fine after the second day and actually asked if I could go back to school. It was hard for me to accept that you could feel great and still be required to skip.
Wow just shows how those same drs are full of it now
