I can't help but think of it all from another angle - all of this perpetual conflict has sharpened the US forces into the most potent, proven weapon of war on the planet. Nobody even comes close. It's always said no amount of training will ever compare to true combat experience, and nobody else on this Earth has anywhere near the combined combat experience spanning unbroken generations like you. That has to count for something, and I believe part of all this hinges on that fact.
