I still don’t have any direct reason to distrust Fidelity yet, and yes I’ve followed all of the GME drama over them and find it absurdly petty. They have been wonderful to work with and are incredibly easy to DRS through, and I have no reason to believe that shares in a cash account are being lent out through them. Not saying I would be surprised to find out if they were being shady, but I can’t say I’d trust another firm more simply because they called themselves a patriot alternative.
So I find DRS through a transfer agent is going to always be the best bet at security until something like Loopring revolutionizes it all by decentralizing the exchange in blockchain.
We apes need a Vanguard/Fidelity patriot alternative. Then can move all our retirement funds over.
