I’ve tried to post this prayer request before, but for whatever reason, it didn’t post. My friend Chad is currently in the hospital fighting COVID pneumonia. He was admitted with C-pneumonia on 11/18. He was given remdesivir, and he cleared the virus. He had taken a 5-day course of horse paste prior to going to the hospital. However, the pneumonia has been persistent. He has had a few setbacks, but he has rallied. The rallies always coincide with prayer. And he needs more prayer now!
He is currently on a ventilator with hopes that his lungs will heal enough for a him to try breathing on his own again. The problem in my non-medical opinion is based on knowing this man for 29 years. He is claustrophobic. Initially, he was on a nose cannula and nonrebreather mask. After the first setback, which started with a medication that could have a negative impact on his kidneys, he was moved to the bipap. Chad is claustrophobic, so the bipap was extremely difficult for him. He was given medication to help with the anxiety. He went back and forth between the nose cannula and bipap.
He had another setback on 12/18, which led to the vent. His blood pressure went up and his oxygen saturation was in the low 20s. Normal people are in the upper 90s. Somewhere between 12/18 and 12/20, he was in a quasi-sedated state that lasted for 24-36 hours because as they sedated him for the vent, his BP went up, so there was some back and forth. Yesterday, his chest X-ray showed “persistent but improved” (referring to the lung damage and pneumonia). This was the best news we have had since 12/17, when he was texting and talking to visitors. Today there was no change. The chest X-ray today showed “no new acute abnormality.” The chest X-ray shows glasslike structures, which are consistent with ARDS and damage from this awful virus.
Prior to this illness, Chad has been healthy. He has high BP, which is controlled with medication. He is 46.
Would you please pray for my friend: for the dissolution of the glasslike structures and improvement in the things Chad is fighting. We ask for Chad’s complete recovery and discharge from the hospital to his loving friends and family in Jesus’ name. We also ask for miracles along the way that encourage his loved ones. Miracles that I will share with all of you.
You are most welcome! Please keep us all posted about Chad or tell us - or even message me - if you want/need more prayer.
Remember, this is not about me or my prayers. This is about HIM and His love for you and Chad. My experience has been that God does not respond according to my worthlessness. God responds according to His love. Be BLESSED, in Jesus Precious Name! AMEN!
Thank you so much! Chad definitely needs as much prayer as possible as do the doctors, nurses, and medical staff that are caring for him. I pray that God surrounds Chad with believers who truly look out for Chad.
