My husband and I worked at the same restaurant after culinary school and our paychecks bounced several times. We were young and didn't think to take them to the owner's bank or cash them and then deposit the cash into our account. Eventually, we figured out to cash them at his bank and then deposit. That was our last check with the guy. He couldn't manage his business, much like Chicago can't manage its own.
