So I had Covid about 4 months ago. Did all the vitamins, minerals, supplements, etc. I got over it in about a week. Wasn't the worst, wasn't the least cold/flu I've ever experienced. FF to about a month ago. My morning commute takes me very close to the shore of the Florida Keys. We had an unusual high tide that seemed to last for a week, or it seemed that the tide lined up to my passing every morning to be very high. Then I drove past low tide, and it was the most intense nastiness I've ever smelled from the ocean.
I asked around at work and got tepid responses. Everyone was "meh" about the smell. Cue the next several days. Suddenly I started smelling that swamp smell everywhere! I take a shit, there it is. I cook bacon, same smell. Beef. Pork. Chicken. I'm now hyper sensitive to the actual swamp smell that I'm the only one who notices it in a group.
The condition I have is called parosmia. I've researched that it can go away if I train my brain to remember what smells are supposed to smell like. Apparently the virus destroys smell receptors in the brain and when they grow back, they don't grow exactly how they used to be.
I'm writing this post for anyone who is suffering from this and thinks they're going crazy like I once thought. I don't think my sense of smell will ever be the same. Luckily for me though, it is not as bad as other people are saying. I can still eat bacon. It's like in the Matrix where the kid is bending the spoon. Don't think that the bacon is sour, instead, think that the bacon is not there at all.
I had covid about 4 months go. I lost taste and smell but they slowly returned to 80-90%. For Christmas my daughter made 5 Onion soup which I was looking forward to but I couldn't taste the onion at all. Some family couldn't stand the onion smell and had to sit outside. This is crazy. I will have to check if there is a homeopathic for this. My smell seems okay but taste is gone.
Colchicum 30 or 200 for distorted, metallic taste. Others are China, Pulsatilla, Nux vomica 200 or Sanguinari. Check your mateia medica to see best match.
Will do...thanks just bought some colchinum for husband's gout! Have the others...will check my good old faithful materia medica! During the family gathering I got a leg cramp and I popped a Hyland's leg cramp tablet and some of the family not raised on homeopathy were amazed that something could work so quickly. My grandson was taking influenza cause he was not feeling well and then got a nosebleed so I gave him phosphorus to stop the bleeding... it is very satisfying to me to be able to use homeopathy...it is so fast acting and easy if you use the right remedies... unfortunately some of the kids raised on homeopathics haven't taken the time and effort to continue in that discipline. You can take a horse to the trough but you can't make them drink. I use muscle response testing which helps me fine tune the right remedy when there are a few good ones to choose from. That is very helpful. It is great to know there are fellow homeopaths on this site. I recently stocked up on sarracenia purpurea from India...waiting for delivery.
I found sarracenia purpurea at Hahnemann Labs. Love Joette Calabrese, learning so much through her.
I like her too. She is very good. I learned about homeopathics in the early 80's. Made my own remedies from mother tinctures then later bought kits or singles from different companies. Raised 5 kids with alternative healthcare including homeopathy. I read a lot of Dana UIlman but have many other good books. Of course my materia medica is worth it's weight in gold. have never bought from Hahnemann Labs...will have to see what they have. Thanks for sharing.
