The same word is used in this verse about the synagogue of satan worshipping Christians.
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and WORSHIP before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. (Revelation 3:9 KJV)
Just because it says "worship", does it mean Christians are gods?
The KJV Bible also says Nebuchadnezzar worshipped Jesus.
Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel (Daniel 2:46)
Does that mean Daniel was god?
If the answer is no, then apply the same to Jesus. He taught people to worship God. he himself had a God. And thus wasn't worshipped as God, but was only being shown reverence.
