This makes zero sense not trying to be rude. Becuase they lost their job doesn’t make them qualified all of a sudden to run their own practice. And what practice will they run? Surgery, diagnosis, etc unless very specialized they have no experience in these fields or they would be doctors
Obviously you don’t understand the full duties of an RN or NPR. You will be amazed at how much these people know and what they do. Look it up or ask around.
I don’t need to I have several who work for me I know what their training is and what they are capable of doing, perhaps you should re evaluate what the difference between a doctor and a nurse entails. Again, not trying to diss nurses or nurses aids etc or other ancillary staff; there is a huge difference in knowledge. Training and legal accountability. Do you want the dental hygienist performing root canals because they were fired for not taking the jab?
Perhaps that hygienist took the root canal class and passed. But decided they didn't want to do canals, would rather do the hygiene stuff.
I'm a mechanic. Would you bring your car to me for a paint job? Probably not. But you'd be missing out on one ofthe best paint jobs you can get. I went to school for bodywork and paint, not to be a mechanic.
I see your point. I think what I’m portraying or at least trying to is that the medical field isn’t the same. Not only does the hygienist not even have the exposure she would not have the practice and training. Yes I may do drywall but I can be exposed to painting also and learn that trade. I can’t clean teeth being trained at that level and it’s basic requirements and sort of pick up the intricacies of a root canal. To each their own let me know when you get your next bypass performed by the scrub tech. The joy of the internet is that we can see thjngs differently and choose to respectfully disagree. But if I need a good paint job I know where to go!
Sure it makes sense... think of a Pareto distribution... 80/20 rule... a Nurse Practitioner can do 80% of what a Dr can do... 80 of people show up for cold / flu / stitches / shots / basic triage.
This is already happening except at the corporate level... think of all the "Doc In A Box" at the drug stores that are popping up... BUT instead of you SAVING money and the nurse getting PAID moar money... the Harvard types have figured out how to fuck both...
In addition to that ... the NP would probably start making house calls in a well equipped van...
Think differently than what "They" allow you to and the world is a better place...
And it's OK to be rude... Thomas Jefferson would approve... let all ideas out and the shitty ones will get shot down early.
We agree with basic triage of course. But there is knowledge and training and practice that they won’t just pick up on the job. Basic things yes in fact I have some nurse practitioners that can do this just fine but they still would work under my guidance and umbrella. We agree and we disagree but handshake anyway
And I'm buying the next round...
