its like santa claus. its utterly ridiculous, but we believe it anyway.

and then when our friends tell us its a hoax, we laugh at ourselves, and wonder how we could've been so gullible in the first place.

i think in a way, its part of "the human experience".

we need to be fooled a few times, so that we are a bit more skeptical about the world.
