Decay by design… when a house that cost 100k 10 years ago is now a million, a crisis is inevitable. Denver was turning into a nice town a few years back and now we see skid row in all parts of the state as 1930s depression era hobo fires fill our “ gentrified” neighborhoods…. This is the inflation no one dare mention…. I guess there’s too much money in real estate to be allowed to point out that skyrocketing prices are destroying the country and rapidly turning us towards Klaus schwab’s wet dreams
30 years ago when I moved to CO there were areas of downtown Denver that were dangerous, crime ridden, drugged up. Then those areas were gentrified, cleaned up, restaurants and bars...and now the city is declining down the back side of that parabolic curve into shitholehood.
Colorado still has great areas but overall the poleass, dominion and his ilk have ruined it.
Haven’t been in town much at all since moving up into the foothills. It was being gentrified when I was getting down there. My wife worked down on 18th and Larimer which is near 5 Points before she moved offices a cpl years ago.
Near the rescue mission, VOA, so many homeless and drugs and prostitution. Legalizing pot as one of the first states brought the dregs from all the other states and they’ve multiplied.
She used to walk from her office to lunch on the 16th St Mall and from the light rail and bus station and towards the end of her time down there she’s be harassed, pan handled, and feel threatened more times than not.
So I’m guessing it’s a shit hole worse than it was. Typical general trend of Colorado these days.
california also helped by busing in their homeless along with some other states,
i dont think we're bussing any out either. just letting them freeze to death and rot where they hide. meanwhile people are wondering why the cities are getting bear, mountain lions and bobcats wandering the neighborhoods.

How's Five Points? It was a shithole when I was there.
