Awake and asleep is not a choice sometimes. In a case where the "antichrist" of corruption comes down and sweeps out all the corrupt players while being corrupt himself, you may not have enough information to be truly awake. In fact, I'd say all of us don't have enough information to be actually awake. It doesn't matter how awake people are if the only information they can see is misinformation and propaganda.
