I thought it was a confession of how Hollywood has made OUR world into a clown world, and that the more clownish, the more it's believeable. They made it sillier so that it's harder to fight.
And that it's the ARCHON's fault (and archons are the hollywood elite and their secret unknown handlers / owners). The analyst in the bullet time scene admitted the agents smith / robots in the matrix were archons harvesting emotional energy
You see, humans as a power source is stupid. Nuclear has much more power than human metabolism and calories; so they are after something else: human processing power and emotion--specifically that they want to create nighmares and clown world (matrix) in order to create suffering because they feed off human fear, suffering the most
This is also, the elite confessing the same. Reiterating because it's not new, it's only a more refined confession of the hegelian dialectic that makes more sense than 'coppertop' in the first
So again, it's gnostic theme--the world is a prison; archons / djinn / demons harvest your emotional energy keeping you in the cycle of suffering
doogie howser cut his teeth on being an evil character in 'series of unfortunate events' where this actor was 1000% brilliant as the count
This is why he was good in this film as the analyst
HOWEVER the new Agent Smith was so WEAKSAUCE I'd say they should have casted someone else--ANYONE else. He was Terrible. Terrible actor choice. This isn't his fault, it's the directors fault
This actor's uncle probably fell in the wachowski's pool and died because they didn't put up a 5' fence per the ordinance and therefore the actors father blackmail extorted them with a vexatious lawsuit to put the kid in the film. That's my guess. Mr. Smith guy is shit.
The merovingian as an old sloppy curmudgeon revenger was 100% unnecessary; in fact it took away from the film but gave them a reason to have a big fight scene
Ultimately, the film was hollow because all they did was rescue Neo and Trinity AGAIN from the matrix; but the idea is that
Because they are both given a 2nd chance and have all this new technology AND an internal rebellion by human-aligned machines that they will finally defeat the matrix and live in harmony with the human-aligned machines
And another couple of sequels by 'Warner Brothers, our beloved parent company"
The bugs girl is not interesting, no matter how colorful you make her hair
I was offended by the sign when she was sliding down the 'ANDERSON light bulb marquee' breaking each one that said "for people who like to eat shit" or something like this
That was the first time they 'broke the 4th wall', but only to offend the audience
Keanu's acting was decent. Trininty was literally the same
No one cares about the new teen rescuers in real world
No one cares about the meat robots working at mr. anderson's software company, or their bullshit shallow pop-philosophy about matrix...it was cringe, but maybe it was supposed to be
I fell asleep the first time watching, the moment Will Smiths' wife with makeup as an old woman military leader Naiobi opened her stupid mouth to complain at Neo for being rescued
Boredom, and also stupid
She locks him up for saving zion and giving them 70 yrs of peace with the machines; that's the thanks he gets
What a cunt. Anyway I was hoping for a sentinel to sneak up and blast her ass
All these fucking comments and I finally find ONE articulated response as to why someone didn't like it. Thanks.

Yes. That was the intent. This film took an overdue shit in nostalgia cereal. And in more ways than just that scene. Every meta moment was purposeful.
Naiobi, to her credit did change her position after being convinced with facts and logic.
In five to ten years, people will look back on this and realize it's a borderline masterpiece. It's a team movie about uniting against a common foe and the best part about these movies is everyone wins. Neo needs Trinity and Trinity needs Neo. They were always both "the one".
You can see my comments to see my deeper perspectives. A lot of themes in this film were very Q centric. It's amusing yet also sad to see so many "I don't see color" people suddenly judge a character for her hair. It's never stated that she's woke yet people judged her by her appearance.
I liked it. Sorry.
