Let's say they open the seal. Then what? The others implicated scatter. Right now, they are in the same boat we are. They don't know if they have been made and they're scared to find out. What happens if they go to an airport and it turns out they're on a "no-fly" list? Then they'll be detained for attempting to flee criminal prosecution. What about leaving by boat? Well getting out of the country via boat is a lot harder than plane and car is obviously even more impractical.

So that leaves them waiting in the dark whereas we go with your well meaning transparency plan, then they know they have been made and will start fighting non-stop to get out of the country. Now they know what their options are and fleeing becomes easier for them. Keep in mind this scenario applies to all of them at the same time. This isn't an issue that involves one or two, this is probably thousands.

That said, you have two options: get involved locally and change your community to the standard you seek and/or bombard them with FOIA requests. I can tell you with certainty that complaining on the internet will solve nothing.
