Probably because all of that covid death money is getting eaten up by importing staff that cost a shitload more than the locals do. I was hearing the nursing staff discuss this very recently while in the hospital. The bonuses were going away for the local staff but the imported ones were still making their extra pay. Yep the last tweet in the article is about exactly that. Didn't know they weren't required to get the clot shot tho.
