It's almost understandable with porn stars. Prostitutes have been shaving for thousands of years to minimize the risk of pubic lice, and having no hair makes it easier to do a visual inspection for crazy rashes and sores.
For normal, monogamous couples, those precautions are absolutely unnecessary. It just becomes a matter of personal preference. I have one friend who I give shit because he shaves his armpits, but he swears that without hair to hold the sweat, he needs less deoderant. My wife said I should try, and I humored her. It felt super weird, and no razor has touched me since.
I’m pretty sure it was the photographers who told the models to start shaving.
Before the 70s, there was hair everywhere in most porn.
I’m pretty sure it was Penthouse that pushed it first, then Playboy.
Explicitness sells magazines.
My question is why did the Playboy company start publishing actual CP in the late 70’s. What part of the Playboy corporation decided it was a good idea, the Playboy financial office, the marketing department or their CIA liaison office?
