I moved here from NY 7 years ago. I love everything about FL except the climate. From november to april the weather is beautiful. I am central FL on the gulf by Tampa. Your average temps during this period , around 70 for high and very low humidity. We do get cold spells but they are mostly high in the 50's. The coldest it has been here since I arrived was 22 degrees one january night. From May to October is another story. Its hot. Temperature wise not so bad, in the middle of summer highs 90-95 everyday. Dew points (the true gauge of comfort, not humidity) around 75. It can be brutal if you work outside. There are no breaks. The summer up north will get you hot for 2-3 weeks but that is separated by weeks of 70's and 80's and lower dew points. You get no break from the humid weather in florida summers. They are relentless. June,July and August you also see thunderstorms almost daily. The summers out west will have much higher temps but no humidity. Which is worse? IMO, the high humidity is worse. YMMV. If you work indoors its not a problem. I work in the weather. It has taken me 7 years to get used to it. I am 52 now and could never go back to the cold. When the temp drops below 70 here I am wearing a winter jacket that I used to wear up north in the sub zero weather lol. You are doing what a LOT of people are doing right now. I have seen more license plates from blue states this year then ever before. New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania mostly. Good luck in beautiful red florida.
The only thing that worries me about the northerners moving here is bringing their terrible blue politics with them. Its no secret that Florida is next on their "to do list"
We feel the same in Texas but I believe that most are relocating for a better life. If not, they have a rude awakening... we're friendly in Texas and have been known to say:
Move to county north of Austin, which isn't as Libtarded as Austin.
Cali people are coming in, blue politics, and what do you know!? High murder rate, smash and grabs, the typical bullshit that these libtards bring. Ruining everything they touch.
Yeah but you have the low dew points. I think I would rather take the dry heat than the wet heat but everyone is different. I bring 3 shirts to work with me in the summer. By 9am I am usually changing out of the first one because its drenched.
Most of the time they are low, but they can get higher during monsoon season which is in the middle of summer when the heat is high too, usually in the 120s.
You will. I weighed 280 when I moved here. That was not muscle mind you. I now weign 219 and am in the best shape of my life. Not hibernating in the winter helps a lot.
Bugs are why God made screens and make sure to get the no seeum size or you will still get bit. Yes, we have lots of humidity, but I don't mind it. Been in Texas and Florida since 1986. Grew up in SF Shithole Frisco area and now when I go back west my skin dries out and cracks. Sinuses dry out too and blowing bloody boogers. Also, hair and everything is so staticy. Zap myself all the time with the west coast static electricity lol. Interesting how we adapt to our environment.

Ditto my brother! Been here since 2004. Saw the sad writing on the wall in Rochester NY. Dead manufacturing hell. Thanks you fucking liberal pussies.

"Welcome to Texas, now go home!"

Lived in Texas awhile back. Great place. I remember bumper stickers that said welcome to Texas, now leave. Glad to see it’s hasn’t changed.
When you think it’s hot there just remember here in Lake Havasu City, Az it’s probably 30 degrees hotter.🥵🥵

I heard the bugs are a downfall too. I could stand to sweat off some fat!😅

Not to mention the dry weather will suck the youth right out of your face and hair. I miss the humid south and so does my vanity! 😩😂
Agree, and that's my main turn off about FL. the humidity!
I have been in the tanpa bay area since 92. It's the best place I have ever lived even with the heat and humidity.
