She was found guilty of federal felonies. There are minimum sentences for federal crimes. I dont think (I could be wrong.. lawpedes?) you can bargain your way down after a guilty verdict. I think the judge in this case has no choice other than where on the sentencing guideline spectrum her jail time falls.

Also there is no early parole, there is no 'good time', for federal crimes. You get 20, you do 20.
