Insurance companies know BETTER than your Doctor about death and life expectancy. Your Doctor may guess you have 18 months to live....an actuary will tell you at exactly what point --from a group of 500,000 people--- that those with your exact mix of medical conditions, ht wt, and medications---when exactly HALF of those people will be dead (which is your "life expectancy").
A life insurance co CEO would be uniquely positioned to comment on changes to death rates.
BTW--OneAmerica is the old State Life insurance co....they are huge.
