If they had simply chosen this woman because of her acting prowess, that is her ability to tell a story, and not mention all the boxes she checks off, they would be heroes. Instead it is clear from this interview that no one even cares if she can act.

I'm not a fan of Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin because they were "plus-size" or "dark-skinned black". Those ladies can SING!

I am not a fan of The Who, The Kinks, Queen, Sam and Dave, Elvis Costello, The Platters, Count Basie or DEVO because of their skin tone or life choices. They ENTERTAIN me.

I await the day when these folks realize that racism is IGNORING race and not being prejudiced because of it.
