Went to my credit union to settle my finances after getting fired (transfer rrsp’s, share ownership plan, pensions). Everything there seemed like business as usual but my wife went to her bank to do the same and got the same vibe you did.
Canada. And no I fucked up and it’s on me. I took the blame for some stuff I didn’t really do to shelter my dept. And some stuff I actually did that’s not a big deal but combined I can understand why they would fire me :). It just didn’t seem worth arguing about I wanted to leave anyways so I took the opportunity.
I went to my bank branch today (Ontario) and used the ATM. One was working and one was out of order. I noticed a huge line to see a teller. I assumed it was because they're short staffed due to Omicron. I haven't heard any rumours but I also don't have any contacts in the banking industry.
I spent the day today driving around a large Canadian city. I did notice that lots of banks had unusual long lineups out the door. No lineups at any other type of business like grocery stores.
I myself am a teller at a small local bank in the US. Haven't heard of anything from other branches or other big banks, will keep my ears and eyes open and make updates if I hear anything.
Very interesting. Would love to hear from someone in (or adjacent to) the know.
Financial reset off fiat currency back to the gold standard. It will all be good. Avoid crypto.
California. Medium sized suburb with 3 Bank of America locations. All three were closed today with no reason posted
I’ve seen 2 of the 3 closed before, never all 3

Have a credit union and multiple branches were closed. Able to do online/call transactions but no inside.
Also do deposits for work. Went to about 9 different banks in the last 2 days. Most were slow and short staffed but were operating
