Anyone who has been here longer than a few months has surely noticed the change in content lately. Provably false posts are being upvoted. There are tons of comments which show ignorance of basic Q theory. Muh racism is being injected into discussions, and accounts I've never seen before are screaming about muh evil Jews.
I'm sure other longtime members can point out more concerning trends. This is just what I've noticed this morning.
Some might attribute all of this to an influx of new accounts who still have much to learn. This is possibly the cause, but several things make me doubt that. For one, I'm not seeing many handshakes. The questionable posts and comments are coming from 'established' accounts. And with the state of things right now (Trump seemingly off the stage & few signs of hope) it makes little sense that new people are joining our community in a sincere effort to learn about Q.
Shills attempting to undermine discussion is nothing new, but I'm seeing a change in strategy. For months we've dealt with doomers popping up left and right, and now they have suddenly gone silent. In their place I see a more sophisticated type of shill, whose goal is to flood this forum with nonsense theories and unsavory content which can be used to discredit the movement.
Other than being more vigilant and vetting things before upvoting, I'm not sure much can be done about this. As always, DEPORT any questionable content and let the mods try and sort it out. I'm sure they are aware of the state of things...
Then I'm not seeing what you're seeing. The one-dimensional arguments are the ones that don't last long.
Besides; the wins are already in the position where they can only be found directly, some phone services don't even allow links to be sent by text, and every effort is made to discredit us all constantly regardless. Self-censorship and restricting avenues of discussion only serve those aims (as long as they aren't in the all X should die camp).
This place was built to replace reddit after the purge, uses a similar layout to their old style, and uses the same voting metrics for content. Because of that it takes advantage of the same psychological manipulation methods.
I agree that up until a few weeks ago the one-dimensional arguments were quickly downvoted or removed. I grew to love this community in part because of its willingness to self-correct.
But something has changed. Hopefully it's only temporary...
