It isn't causality. It is simple denial. If they could go back in time they wouldn't do it. But they did so it doesn't matter.
The vax is safe. It has to be. These issues are unrelated and the vax is protecting them. It has to. COVID is dangerous and would kill them. It has to be.
They not only become pro-vax to the extreme because their life is on the line but they also become complete COVID propagandists because COVID has to be ultra-dangerous for them to have taken the risk. If it isn't then they fucked themselves for nothing when they do inevitably admit to themselves the vaccine is the cause.
Its why you hear "Well it would have been worse if not for the vaccine". Because they must justify the vaccine even after catching it. If the vaccine did nothing then they took a pointless risk. If they give it to their child and they die then COVID would have killed them anyway. That has to be what would have happened.
Cope gets thrown around here too much but that is literally all it is.
Very true, but there’s one more aspect:
They took the vaccine because they understood the science and had reason to believe it would help.
That has to be true, because otherwise it would mean they only took it because they were told to do so.
That they never actually had any thoughts of their own all this time.
That the media and the Biden administration - all the people they trusted - lied to them.
But they didn’t, because Trump is the liar, and Q followers are the sheep that belong to a cult. But not the vaccinated. Can’t be.
They can’t admit any of this, because it goes beyond fear of their physical health as a result of the vaccine.
Because they would have to confront how they fell for the cultish behavior they felt they were above.
And because it speaks greatly to their own ability (or lack thereof) to think and discern for themselves.
