I have a disease called leaky gut and I have to stick to strict diet otherwise ill experience inflammation all over my skin. I have not been doing this. I've been eating pleasurable, indulgent foods and it's hard to stop.
However, I want to change and I want to do it for you guys. As silly as this sounds, I feel like this movement merits me to make sacrifices. People fighting for our nation are making sacrifices, so I should be able to make sacrifices too.
This is gonna be hard, but I'm going to stop eating the pleasurable foods I shouldn't eat for the rest of this month. Wish me luck.
Right there with you. Started seeing a “functional dr” and on a plan now with short term supplements. After 6 weeks iof strictly following gluten free, dairy free and soy free with drastically reduced sugars, nearly all of the inflammation is gone. Headaches are now rare instead of 24x7, all joint pain gone and just a little hip pain remaining but I can now get up in the morning without hesitation or dread.
This has been life changing at my age and already down 12 pounds (38 to go). The initial motivation was that I paid a handsome price for the program so it made me want to do it., but living through both Thanksgiving and Christmas without the traditional comfort foods that were all around me and now not really missing them, I know I can make the lifestyle change especially with 90%+ of my daily pains now gone. (Which is now the primary motivation)
Quality food is not cheap and it’s easy to want to spend less on unhealthy food so every morning I ask myself if I would put water in my gas tank because water is cheaper. Obviously the answer is no, so why do we treat our bodies any different.
Be strong and you can break the programming we have been taught is sustainable food.
