This actually makes sense. Think of how many people have to get tested in order to get a clearance to go to work or school. If you're asymptomatic it's unlikely you're sick, but the idiots in charge need proof.
If you have symptoms of covid, they tell you to just assume it is. So what does it matter if it's covid or a cold or even the flu? Does it change what you're supposed to do when you're sick? Stay home, rest, plenty of fluids, chicken soup, meds or herbal remedies, etc... So why do you need to know if it's covid?
