IMO slow and steady is the way.
Promote the new. (a silent switchover is their worst nightmare)
Don't complain about the old.
If you complain about the old -- you are endorsing the old in a terrible way.
You are saying --- it is bad but I still use it --- being bad is normal, get used to it.

Years ago I helped with a push for Linux.
Instead of bashing Windows we promoted vendors who sold Linux machines..
We can slowly cook the frog too.
FWIW I use UbuntuMATE https://ubuntu-mate.org/
I switched to Ubuntu 15 years ago but still have a Windows and mac machine because my family doesn't understand critical thinking
