Strict Catholic sect. Famously the monk in that Dan Brown book The Davinci code was Opus dei, he wore a device (cilice) on his leg that cut into the flesh so he was in permanent pain to assist in appreciating Christs suffering. In the UK a minister Ruth Kelly was a member who got some critisism because she was against abortion and gay stuff, but then as equalities minister she did some things that seemed at odds, like failing to vote against some things. Could be a cover, obviously aligned with the vatican so def suspicious. They present as one thing and perhaps are doing another.
