"Those who come to me cannot be my disciples unless they love me more than they love father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and themselves as well"
No hate in there. And also the context you replied to was far reaching at best. Christ said very plainly and this translation is most consistent, to love your enemies. Seems odd he'd expect you to hate the people closest to you yet love your enemies... It could be that loving your enemies is more important. It could also be we have it all wrong and there's really know way to know... Unless maybe if you shed the obsession of being right and instead try to hone in on what IS right. More often than not, the two are never in alignment.
