For the longest time into the early 2000s i remember getting the sensation that the big push was away from rural/suburban life and trying to get ppl into megacities. Magazine articles, etc, all coordinated to try to sell city living as the future.

Now with the COVID crap they are pushing people out of cities. Ive always been a country boy, but now you couldnt pay me to even go visit NY or DC.

Seems to run counter to their previous goals of rewilding the suburbs and getting us all into tiny apartments. What gives?
