This is VERY unusual. What is yout best guess?

I help build one in 1999 that is almost as big as the one in that vid. We didn't have as much weight in the weight box for safety reasons but it was still pretty amazing at how far it would fling heavy stuff. It's still sitting in northeast PA, about 3.5 hours drive from DC.
Nice! We calibrated ours slightly wrong to start with- it released early and put a nice round hole in the warehouse roof... Glad it wasn't the size you built..
Lol Thats awesome. Admittedly I didn't plan or obtain materials, I just helped build it. It took us much longer to get it working properly than to actually build it. The release was the hardest part by far.
We had open fields but its still dangerous with that much weight moving that quickly. It was built by high-school students and a few parents stepped in when we needed help.
It took a lot of planning and time to take apart and rebuild/adjust with only manpower but it was an experience I will never forget.
