Linux Mint running KDE Plasma desktop environment - Word (as in to your mother)
KDE plasma is good for peeps transitioning from windows because it kind of has a start button like windows did before they fucked it as hard as it is now.
It is completely malleable though. Build your own desktop with anything anywhere and your own workflow. Want a system tray in the middle of your screen or where the start button is? No prob. Want 8 panels or docks with one on every screen edge on 2 monitors? Got you covered. Want your computer to look EXACTLY like windows 3.1, 7, 8.1, 10, 11 / apple mac? No probs. A start button half as big as the entire screen just kind of right in the fucking way, yep!
I got widgets that fold out from the side of the screen to change my home entertainment system from 1080 to 4K for instance. Build what you want. This is the framework.
Fuck this microsoft/apple telling you how shit will look.
Oh, I know. I'll get there. Eventually.
